I am writing this post to reach out to others that may have photos, stories, or information about my family.

Let me begin with the Berg family. My grandfather, Edward John Berg (1897-1966) was born in Chicago, Cook, IL. The story we know is that he was the last child of 10 born to Mathias (1849-1931) and Catherine (Pesch) Berg. (1850-1936) It is told that by 1905 there were only 2 children alive and they moved from Chicago to Belvidere, Boone County, IL to save my grandfather's life. I have not been able to find all of the children. Through researching I have found the following names: Nicholas, John, Matthew J., Margaretha, Dennis, Catherine or Kate, Willie, Anna, Louisa, Lou, and Mamie (Berg) Fitcher (sister that lived until 1955). Her obit said: Mrs. Fichter was predeceased by four brothers, Matt, Nick, Dennis and Willie, four sisters, Kate, Ann, Louise, and Lou  However it may be that some of them were the children of  Nicholas P Berg who also married a Pesch, Louise Marie.

The other thing that complicates following the family is that the burials took place at St. Boniface and some were in temporary graves, known as term grave sites.
